Muetmbo Nchito during parliamentary committee sittingDear Mr. Mutembo Nchito,

I write to you in order to appeal to your conscience especially pertaining to the current events in the politics of our beloved country, Zambia. This letter is written to you as a Christian who, I understand, is born-again.

I will use the letter which you wrote to Mr. Samuel Musonda dated 28th May, 2002 as a reference point. After all, the Bible says that the measure you use on others is the measure which will be used on you. If you used the Bible on Mr. Musonda, then the Bible should be used on you. Unless you fall in the category of those who just use the Bible as a tool to get what they want without being subject to it themselves, but I really wish (and want) to think otherwise of you Mr. Nchito.

Mr. Nchito, you made a name for yourself by leading the prosecution (or is it persecution) of the late former President FJT Chiluba and now, you will lead the prosecution of another former President, Mr. Rupiah Bwezani Banda. Mr. Banda is alleged to have stolen $2 Million. My question is, do you believe that you have the moral right to lead such a trial? How much do you owe yourself; is it $3 or $4 Million? Is it not those without sin who are qualified to throw stones?

Matt 7:3-5
And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Don’t you think that it is better for you to first remove the K14billion-plank from your eye before you lead the demand for the $2 million? Is it not better for you to step aside and let another occupy the office of Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP, because the K14billion-plank in your eye is likely to affect (or infect) your judgments?

The only time you should be let off the hook is when you repent and restitute (pay back). There can be no forgiveness without repentance. These are your own words! Your own measure Mr. Nchito.

You wanted Chiluba to restitute (pay back) what he got from the Zambians through the then state-owned bank, ZANACO. It is a shame that the same ‘legal technical jargon’ you condemned in your letter to Mr. Musonda, is the same one you use in your desperate attempts not to pay back what you owe the Zambian people through the DBZ, a state owned bank.

You stated in your letter to Mr. Musonda that you are aware that one day you will have to give an account of how you handled the case of FJT Chiluba; are you aware that you will also answer for the K14 Billion, the persecution of opposition party leaders; you will answer for dragging them through costly legal processes and only to enter a nolle’ on the final day.

Let me further remind you that you will also answer for the nolle’s you entered in favour of Rajan Mathani, the man you owe money through his Finance Bank. My hope is that you are not trading off your personal debts with nolles thus compromising your function as DPP.

Matt 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

How is your light? Are people praising God because of you? In your letter, you begged Mr. Musonda not to put the name of the Lord to shame; can you stand with your head held up high and proudly proclaim that you haven’t done the same?

Rom 2:21
You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal?

Is your light shining in the judiciary? At Law Association of Zambia? At the Post Newspaper? Talking about the Post..

2Cor 6:14
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?

I can only speculate as to what binds you together with Fred M’membe, but can it pass when measured against 2 Cor 6:14?

You questioned how can a man like Eric Silwamba give counsel to Mr. Musonda; maybe we should also ask you if it is alright for you to get counsel from a man like Fred M’membe? Do you approve of the language he uses in the Post? Do you approve of the pictures published in the Weekend Post? Is it a case of birds of the same feather or is indebtedness a more powerful cause than the Word of God? Indeed, I can only speculate.

Ps 1:1
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

You recommended this Psalm to Mr. Musonda I hope it’s not too much for you to swallow your own pill!

I am sure you are likely to gloss over this letter and go find scriptures which seemingly favour your cause but that is like saying ‘who cares about the prostate cancer, my kidneys are alright’. The body functions as one so does the Word of God. You cannot ignore the other verses.

You used the death of your sister’s child, Nchima Mwitwa, as a motivation in your prosecution against Chiluba. What will be your motivation now against RB; the death of Zambian Airways?

Yours,

Layman.
