guy-scott-kwacha-zambia-reportsVice-President Guy Scott has refuted reports of the ailing President Michael Sata.

Dr Scott said when campaigning in at Chipepo Basic School in Kapiri Mposhi ahead of the by-election that President Sata was not sick as information spread in the area allegedly by the UPND supporters.

He said the President was well on national duty and that they should ignore the rumours by voting for PF candidate, Eddy Musonda.

“The accusations they are talking about and these rumours that the President is sick are not true, that is why he sent me here, he never sent me here because he is sick, he sent me here because I am his chola boy. He has to go to China for work and he says the chola boy will go to Kapiri Mposhi. He wants to see that Kapiri Mposhi develops,” he said.

But UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma said his party does not wish President Sata ill and dissociated the party from the accusations that they were spreading rumours about his illness.

Kakoma said UPND was looking forward to President Sata concluding his five year term and that the rumours about his sickness should have emanated from somewhere else.

He said much as they have different political views, the UPND valued human life and wish President Sata good health.

UPND is fielding Rose Zimba while Francis Mwape on UNIP. MMD is supporting the UPND candidate.

President Sata’s health has been deteriorating for some time and it has left him confined to State House with only limited public appearance and movements.
