Stella LibonganiThe police service says it is ready to provide adequate security to the forth coming Kuomboka ceremony of the Lozi people of Western Province (Barotseland) where the situation remains volatile.

Western Province is advocating for secession and its people are opposing government programmes with fears there could be some clashes when one of the biggest tourist traditional attractions is held on April 20.

Inspector General of Police Stella Libongani said in an interview with ZANIS in Mongu today that the ceremony is of great significant to the region and people should be allowed to attend with the protection of the police.

Libongani appealed to the general public to work hand in hand with police so that the atmosphere is conducive enough for development.

The IG was on a four days tour of Lukulu, Mongu, Senanga and Kaoma districts in Western Province visiting operation areas.
