Clik here to view.Patriotic Front secretary general Wynter Kabimba, facing corruption investigations, has accused the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) of being the most corrupt political party in Africa during the time it was in power.
Kabimba, who served at the Lusaka City Council (LCC), during the MMD tenure and his president Michael Sata was National Secretary until 2001 was campaigning in Kapiri Mposhi.
The Lusaka lawyer, who is also justice minister, is raising the accusing finger of corruption when four of his fingers are pointing back at him in relations to the oil kickbacks he received from Trafigura.
During the campaigns, Kabimba claimed the PF government was concerned with the welfare of civil servants in the country. However, the fist action of President Sata when he assumed government was to take care of his salary and his ministers.
President Sata and his official, at midnight when everyone was sleeping, issued a Statutory Instruments that increased salaries for constitutional office orders disregarding parliamentary approval on the matter.
Sensing danger and an imminent backlash, Sata ordered the haphazard revision of the minimum wage which business have not wholeheartedly embraced while unemployment remained very high contrary to the promises they made that within 90 days this will be a think of the past.
The PF, while accusing the MMD of corruption, is poaching some of the most corrupt MPs from the opposition and is embracing discredited elements such as Gladys Nyirongo, Gabriel Namulambe, Steven Masumba, Richard Taima, Keith Mukata, David Phiri and Dr Patrick Chikusu.
During the same tour, Kabimba claimed the PF administration is doing its best to improve the welfare of civil servants as he visited Nchembwe Basic School in Kapiri Mposhi.
He also said President Sata wants members of Parliament (MPs) to live with people in their constituencies so that they can understand and address their problems,
The by-election in Kapiri Mposhi will be held on April 23 with the PF fielding Eddie Musonda.
