With the prices of almost every essential commodity shooting up Zambians will have to grapple with another rise in the price of cement.
A check around town has revealed that Lafarge Cement is now selling at K75 from K55 with management saying the increase has been necessitated by the impending close down of the factory for maintenance.
Along Alick Nkhata in Kalingalinga the traders have already started at the new price.
The traders said Lafarge had upped the order price.
“Boss there is nothing we can do because the order price has gone up with Lafarge saying since the plant will be shut down for maintenance the increase is the only way,” said the trader who sought anonymity.
Recently after the fuels price increase the price for a lot of goods has gone up with bus fares already increased, mealie meal is set to be hiked next week.
