Renard HerveZambia’s World Cup dream has suffered a huge setback after being held 1-all by Sudan at their Levy Mwanawasa home ground in the Copperbelt provincial capital – Ndola.

The Chipolopolo came into the match on high after they beat Lesotho 4-0 last week to remain in command of Group D 24 hours after Ghana had defeated Sudan 3-1 in Omuduman.

It was not the case today as the same team failed to break the Sudan jinx. Jacob Mulenga, scorer of a brace against Lesotho, was on target today nodding the opener in the 70th minute which was immediately cancelled by Malik Mohammed who equalised two minutes later.

The 2012 African champions now have 11 points from five matches, with Ghana on nine points ahead of their Maseru tie tomorrow. Chipolopolo’s final fixture is against Ghana at the dreaded Kumasi Stadium in September.
