Zambian opposition UPND national chairperson for women’s affairs Namakau Kabwiku has responded to PF permanent secretary for special duties at Cabinet office, In’utu Suba’s remarks describing Hichilema as selfish.

Suba was quoted in her nephew Fred M’membe’s newspaper – The Post – which has wedged a war against Hichilema describing him as selfish saying the UPND leader’s decision to shun today’s 48th Independence Celebrations were a self serving act.

Suba, also believed to be enjoying a perculiar affair with President Michael Sata, is an unpopular civil servant who has been tossed around three provinces where she has been rejected.

The Livingstone-based lawyer was removed as PS from Livingstone and transferred to Central Province before being posted to Luapula where she was also roundly rejected.

But because of her affair with Sata and the fact that she is M’membe’s aunty, Suba still has some place in the PF government and now serves as PS for special duties at Cabinet Office. The position was created for her as it does not exit in the current structure.

However, Kabwiku has warned Suba to refrain from participating in politics as her job ended at distributing invitation cards to such functions as Independence Celebrataions.

“It is not her place to issue political comments on the attendance or non attendance of political party leaders. But her statement is not surprising. It is fitting with her character. Ms Suba’s record of service in the civil service is not a distinguished one,” Kabwiku stated.

“In the short time that the PF has been in power, she has been the subject of protests by fellow civil servants. When she was Permanent Secretary for Southern Province, civil servants staged a protest and demanded her removal because they found her behavior unbecoming.”

Kabwiku said UPND was surprised that while others have been retired in national interest, Suba, who has been widely rejected by the civil service, is still in government.
