Patriotic Front (PF) Southern Province Political Secretary, Brian Hapunda, is confident the ruling party will secure another five year term of office in 2016 due to the disunity among opposition political parties.
Hapunda says presently there is no opposition political party that can take on the PF noting that all the parties in the opposition have become selfish.
He said people are looking forward to seeing an opposition political party that can be an alternative to the ruling PF but that none of the opposition parties offers that alternative.
Hapunda says it is clear that the PF will govern this country for many years, even beating the 20-year record of the former ruling party MMD.
He adds that the prolonged stay of the PF in power has been boosted by the continued gaining of popularity even in areas the party was previously unknown. On the contrary, the PF is losing popularity at a face pace and are resorting to intimidation, vote buying and abuse of government resources in by-election to show they were a growing party.
Hapunda explains that in areas where the opposition UPND and MMD considered as strongholds, the PF is slowly gaining popularity which will make it difficult for the opposition to dislodge the PF from power.
