A ruling Patriotic Front cadre, claiming to be a big fish in Northern Province’s Kasama, has blocked opposition National Restoration Party leader Elias Chipimo Jr from featuring on Radio Mano to discuss the state of of affairs in the country.
The cadre only identified as a Mr Chipili turned Chipimo away from the community radio station and warned that if the programme would go ahead, a group of PF sympathisers were to use force to remove the Narep leader.
“I have just been physically prevented from speaking on Radio Manor in Kasama by a Mr. Chipili below (claiming he is a big fish in Kasama) operating on behalf of PF,” Chipimo Jr posted on his facebook page included the picture on the left of the Mr Chipili shortly after the incident.
Chipimo Jr, a northerner from Kasama, is in the area to attend the burial of Paramount chief Chitimukulu and was then invited to the station but the dictatorial PF regimes has instructed its cadres not to entertain the opposition.
Meanwhile, the process to put to rest the late Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba speaking people who died last year has commenced with a church service held yesterday at the late Chief’s royal palace (kulubemba) in his honour.
Kasama Central Member of Parliament (MP) Geoffrey Mwamba confirmed that the burial rituals started yesterday.
The Chief, who died on April 3, 2012 in Lusaka, would finally be put to rest on July 21, 2013, in Chinsali at a place called KuMwalule, where paramount Chiefs are buried.
Mwamba, who is in Kasama to attend the burial, is accompanied by his counterpart from Energy Energy, Mines and Water Development Christopher Yaluma and Home affairs deputy minister Alfredah Kansembe.
