Zambia’s Minister for Commerce Bob Sichinga has shockingly said the country’s drop of 10 points on the World Bank Ease of Doing Business ranking was expected.

Sichinga claims this is because of the change of government which required policy redirection and redrafting of legislations.

He says that in 2013, Zambia’s ranking on the ease of doing business will improve to be in the top 50 best performing countries.

The Minister is disappointed that Zambia’s ranking dropped ten points but notes that this was a result of re-organisation following the change of government.

The World Bank announced that Zambia rank for ease of doing business had dropped from 84 to 94.

Meanwhile, Sichinga has urged the Zambian people to work hard as a way to contribute to the welfare of the country.

He said at a Zambia Association of Manufacturers that most Zambian people were waiting for the government to better their lives.

Sichinga was among the many PF leaders that promised change within a short period of time but the ruling party has found the going tough in reality.
