The opposition National Restoration Party has named its candidates in the three forthcoming by-elections in the Eastern Province set for September 5.
NAREP leader Elias Chipimo said the party will field candidates in Malambo, Mkaika and Petauke Central constituencies.
Chipimo said the party was spreading its influence across the country.
He named the candidates as Nigel Mpakata for Mkaika, Michell Manda for Malambo with Abel Phiri selected for Petauke Central.
The Malambo Mkaika and Patauke seats were nullified by the courts of law in what analysts argue is an attempt to give the ruling party a chance to increase its number of seats in parliament.
On Thursday, Zambia witnessed four by-elections that saw the ruling party lose in three and taking one.
The September five will provide another round of by-elections in the many more to be held as the PF moves to fight for its targeted 106 threshold to control parliament and rubber stamp decisions.
