The senior Chipolopolo boys this evening test their arsenal against the Teranga Lions of Senegal in Paris as they warm up for next month’s Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier against Ghana in Kumasi on September in Kumasi.
Herve Renard has had almost all his players summoned a rarity in the Zambian football set up and will hope to give the Teranga Lions a strong run.
With the exception of skipper Christopher Katongo, James Chamanga and Chisamba Lungu, all the players summoned have pitched up setting the stage for a mouth watering fixture at the Saint Leu Stadium in Paris.
Senegal have omitted their Chelsea star Demba Ba and Newcastle’s Papisse Cisse in the game against Zambia with the latter suspended for the World Cup qualifier against Uganda that the team is preparing for.
Renard left out Collins Mbesuma who has been among the most consistent players in the Zambia jersey in the World Cup campaign this year.
Mamelodi Sundowns new signee Kennedy Mweene will captain the side and take up his number one spot between the posts while with Renard’s first choice central defence pair of Hichani Himoonde and Stoppilla Sunzu it will be interesting to see whether the Frenchman will take the option of allowing either Kondwani Mtonga or Christopher Munthali to take a place at the heart of defence.
Davies Nkausu and Joseph Musonda will take the right and left back respectively while Nathan Sinkala and Kondwani Mtonga expected to be in the engine room hoping to control the game with Rainford Kalaba floating between the attack and midfield.
At the tip of the attack FC Utrecht striker Jacob Mulenga is likely to partner Southampton striker Emmanuel Mayuka with Europa League campaigner and FC Astra striker Fwayo Tembo will take up position on the left wing with either Bruce Musakanya or Roderick Kabwe taking up the right wing. The match kicks off at 19:00 hours Zambian time.
