The fuel shortage in Lusaka has persisted with some filling stations having run out of the commodity two days ago.
A check at some stations across the city revealed that some outlets have the commodity but supplying it sparingly while at some outlets, motorists were being turned away.
On the Great North Road, some filling stations like Total, Mount Meru had supply drying out while there was a promise of the commodity trickling in later in the day.
Energy Minister Christopher Yaluma has played down the shortage saying the Oil Marketing Companies should buy the commodity from Indeni in Ndola instead of the newly built strategic reserves in Lusaka.
Yaluma claimed the situation was under control.
Oil Marketing Companies have struggled to replenish their stocks after the removal of subsidies as the supplies removed the credit facility only supplying the OMCs upon payment.
