MpondamaliKabwe-based freelance journalist Wilson Mpondamali has had his day in court delayed with his case adjourned again.

Mpondamali, who is facing a charge of malicious damage to property and attempted escape from lawful custody, appeared before Kabwe Magistrate Smart Mweene but the state was once again not ready to proceed.

The prosecution said the vehicle had been taken to Lusaka to ascertain the extent of the damage.

“Went to court today, matter did not take off and adjourned to 25th October, meanwhile have some more matters coming up on 30th September,” wrote Mpondamali on his social network facebook page.

“God is GREATER than those that oppress HIS people and the consequences are severe.”

Mpondamali is one of three journalists that are being pursued by the state on their suspected linked to the Zambian Watchdog, a popular independent online publication.

The other two who are separately charged are former Evelyn Hone College lecturer Clayson Hamasaka and freelance journalist Thomas Zyambo.
