President Michael Sata on Saturday left Mufumbwe after spending a few hours campaigning for PF candidate Steven Masumba in the November 8 election in anger following poorly attended rallies.

But opposition leaders, UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema and Nevers Mumba, both supporting MMD’s Stanfford Mulusa are still in the area convincing electorates of how President Sata and his PF were deceiving them into more fake promises.

President Sata was scheduled to spend a night in Mufumbwe on his first ever North Western province visit since assuming power but the cold reception forced him out as soon as he address uninspiring rallies.

While addressing rallies in Mufumbwe, President Sata spent most of his time churning out falsehoods in an attempt to portray Masumba, who was expelled from MMD, as a ‘good boy’ only destroyed by Dr Mumba.

Sata also has accused PF campaign manager in the Mufumbwe by-election Jean Kapata of failing to mount a successful campaign and feared the PF were not winning the election in the area.

According to the Zambian Watchdog, Sata arrived in Mufumbwe at 10 hours on Saturday but by 19 hours, he was back in Lusaka. At one of the meetings that had more police officers in attendance than potential voters, Sata told his candidate Masumba to keel down and beg the people.

At the other meeting also attended by mainly police officers from Copperbelt and Lusaka, Sata accused Dr Mumba of being jealous of Masumba because he was dancing with beautiful Congolese woman.

He claimed Dr Mumba captured the photos of Masumba dancing with a dancing queen at a concert hosted by DR Congo’s Fally Ipupa which was later published in the PF tabloid – The Post Newspaper. Sata wondered what could be wrong with dancing with a beautiful Congolese woman.

Sata said Dr Mumba’s characters is questionable. He said Mumba started a church saying he would be a Tele-evangelist but did not carry on the important job of serving the lost souls.

However, Dr Mumba said the PF had cheated Zambians last year by saying they will perform certain miracles within 90 days but that none of those miracles has been performed. He said unfortunately the PF has not gone back to apologise to Zambians for the bunch of lies they told them on their way to power.

He said Mufumbwe voters will judge President Sata’s leadership on November 8.
