The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) says it is more than willing to substantiate its recent revelations of alleged irregularities in the purchase of 50,000 metric tonnes of Urea fertilizer from Saudi Arabia by government with documentary evidence.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has disclosed it will consider the information UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has disclosed to the commission in its ongoing inquiry on the allegations.
UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma says his party is ready to disclose additional information to the ACC to back the earlier letter the party leader wrote to the commission.
Kakoma who is also former Zambezi West Member of Parliament says the UPND has documented information on the alleged irregularities in the purchase of the said fertilizer by the government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
He says this is why the ACC will have no excuse not to probe the alleged corruption relating to the purchase of the 50 000 metric tonnes of Urea fertilizer by the government from Saudi Arabia.
