First Quantum Mining company has resettled 10 of the over 500 settlers in the Kalumbila Mine project area.
The first batch of settlers to be resettled has since been compensated with another 100 set to be compensated by the end of the year.
The mining firm has set aside US$12.6 million for the resettled plan.
The Zambia Environmental Council approved the Kalumbila Mine Resettlement Scheme on 15th October, 2013.
