upnd-lusaka-zambia-reportsUnited Party for National Development Director of Research Dr Choolwe Beyani says President Michael Sata’s appointment of another of his relations to a high profile ambassadorial position has made the PF government a tribal jungle.

President Michael Sata on Monday appointed and swore in his wife’s niece Gertrude Mwape as Zambia’s Ambassador to China.

“Sata’s PF tribalism continues to flourish with the appointment of his wife’s niece to China as Ambassador. The family forest has become a family jungle,” Beyani said.

“KK in his better days of One Zambia one Nation would have had a heart attack. But separate Sata tribalism from the Bemba people. They are also victims of a crooked Bemba cartel, soothsayers of raped ideals.”

He said only President Sata’s close relatives were benefiting from the appointments and not the larger Bemba society.

“The Bemba people, not even the Bisa benefit from Sata’s Bisa origins and PF Bemba tribalism. Luapula and Northern Province will remain as undeveloped as the rest of Zambia,” he said.

Majority of appointees into diplomatic services are either children of Sata’s relatives, their husbands, his nieces and nephews as well as several other relatives both close and distant.
