The 64 Barotseland activists accused of treason have been discharged after the state entered a nolle prosequi.
Lusaka Magistrate Court Aridah Chulu freed the accused after Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito entered a nolle prosequi.
Among the accused was former Ngambela Clement Sinyinda who also served as Education Deputy Minister under the Rupiah Banda administration.
The Barotseland activist had been in detention for Four months after being accused of declaring self-rule.
The Barotse question has come in focus after the Patriotic Front government that promised to restore the Barotseland Agreement of 1964 reneged on its promise after ascending to power.
