Former MMD Secretary Major Richard Kachingwe’s appetite for good things is reportedly tearing his family apart as the once upon a time powerful man has been accused of not caring for his 22-year old recently deceased daughter.
According to impeccable family sources Kachingwe opted to travel to Nigeria accompanying Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito in August at the time his daughter Chanda who was in China where she was studying died.
The family’s plea for Kachingwe to go and get the body was unheeded as he opted to go to Nigeria where he had signed a pact with Nchito to nail Former Republican President Rupiah Banda.
After learning that the daughter was ill, Maj Kachingwe sold her house in Libala Stage four that was bequeathed to her by her deceased mother and never shared the money with the family.
The former MMD Chief Executive officer whose seven bed roomed house in Silverest area is still under construction has forced him to sell off his house in Kalundu.
Kachingwe’s first born son Lombe has been embroiled in a car scandal at the Namibian High Commission where he is stationed.
“His oldest son Lombe who will be marrying the niece to Chiefs and traditional Affairs Minister is also a diplomat at the Zambian mission in Namibia,” said the source.
“Lombe has no qualifications, he was sent to London by his father years back but he dropped out of school. Lombe was given a job at London mission then brought back to Lusaka then sent to Namibia.”
The source said: “Lombe who has also taken advantage of his position to illegally bring in cars from Namibia which must be used for the Zambian mission in Namibia but he and Kachingwe personally use them here in Zambia.”
“Lombe was given a job by Sata under conditions that Kachingwe must turn his back on RB to save his sons job this is the reason Kachingwe frequented state house early last year and this year.”
