Defence minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, commonly known as GBM, is surprised that a junior party official in Lusaka province chairman Geoffrey Chumbwe took to the media to attack him.

Chumbwe, who is reported to have been sent by PF general secretary Wynter Kabimba, to attack GBM on his presidential ambitions was sufficiently quoted by The Post.

GBM and Kabimba are engaged in some shadow boxing to succeed President Michael Sata in an event that the Head of State fails to pass a fitness test for the 2016 elections.

The Post, a once vibrant independent newspaper-turned-PF propaganda newsletter, is supporting Kabimba in the presidential showdown with GBM.

GBM recently stated that he would back President Sata for a second term and even an unconstitutional third term but The Post has continued with incessant attacks on him.

Qfm reports that GBM, who is also Kasama Central Member of Parliament, said Chumbwe’s statement that he had no wisdom to be president of Zambia was an opinion of his own.

GBM, however, says its unfortunate that the Lusaka province chairman has chosen to be used by some selfish party officials in reference to Kabimba whom he did not name.

GBM said he was better off not mentioning any names although it is clear that his remarks were directed at Kabimba.
