The Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia says it will not be possible to produce Urea Fertilizer in the near future.
NCZ Director Zuze Banda said it will take more than two years to renovate the plant and be in a position to produce Urea fertilizer.
Banda said the trend of importing fertilizer from as far afield as Saudi Arabia will continue.
There has been concern over the import of Urea fertilizer with the recent purchase of fertilizer having raised eyebrows after the opposition UPND questioned the high price paid for the fertilizer.
