Fr BwalyaThe Alliance for a Better Zambia has called for opposition political parties to field one candidate in all the by-elections to be held before 2016.

ABZ president Father Frank Bwalya said the unity demonstrated during his arrest by opposition political parties should be consolidated.

Father Bwalya said the Patriotic Front had proved that they were bent on taking the country back into the One Party era.

“As ABZ we are very happy with the support that we received from the people of Zambia and also fellow opposition political parties that showed solidarity with us. We hope this unity can be consolidated,” he said.

“We are appealing to opposition political parties to field one candidate in all the by-elections to be held before 2016. We should not give the PF breathing space. They have failed to give the Zambian people a constitution.”

Fr Bwalya was arrested after appearing on Radio Mano in Kasama where he figuratively likened President Sata to a potato which gets damaged whenever attempts to straighten it are made.
