Chief Macha of the Tonga people of Southern Province says the Patriotic Front government should look beyond just constructing roads in their approach to development.
The traditional leader said roads were a noble undertaking but that there was need to take holistic approach to roads.
He said there was chaos in the agriculture sector and prices kept rising in the country while government was preaching their roads sermon.
“They have not done very well so far because like in our case we are a farming people but you know the story of inputs at the moment. You see roads are good but if we do not take care of food then even the roads will not make sense. We will not eat good roads so they have to look beyond roads,” Chief Macha said.
He said the squabbling in the ruling party was hurting the country.
“They are using too much time fighting each other instead of developing the country. The people are worried.”
