President Michael Sata says; ” it is unfortunate that the constitution-making process has been hijacked by individuals whose objective is to embarrass, humiliate and politically undermine the sovereign will of the masses.”
But this statement begs some questions like;
When did Sata know that the constitutional making process had been hijacked? Was it when the technical commitee was collecting submissions from all the districts of Zambia?
Was it when community leaders where making submissions at the district and provincial convetions? Was it when the TC was conducting sector group convetions?
Or maybe when the process had reached the national convetion? And in case Sata has forgotten, the government and the PF in particular were represented at all these fora.
And if we may ask, who are these so called hijackers that Sata is dreaming of? Is it the ordinary Zambians who made submissions at district level? Is it the chiefs and community leaders who made submissions to the TC at district and provincial levels? Is it the Church? Is it the NGO’s? Or maybe it’s the students.
Sata must personally come out and tell the Zambians when the constitution making process was hijacked and by who, instead of hiding behind George Chella.
