The ruling Patriotic Front has angled in to dilute the impact of the differences over the district elections that were supposed to have taken place on Saturday after Vice President Guy Scott froze them.
Provincial chairperson Geoffrey Chuumbwe claimed that the differences had been ironed out and elections will be held soon.
Chuumbwe said the date would soon be announced for the elections.
“We are now ready for the elections, we did not hold them because we needed to sort out a few differences that we have and everything is okay now,” he said.
“We will just wait for the party chairperson of elections (Sylvia Masebo) to give us the new date.”
Factionalism has engulfed the PF Lusaka District office with camps emerging and refusing to acknowledge each other.
The executive was dissolved in October last year at the height of wrangles that left a PF cadre dead at the hands of fellow party members while several others were bloodied in the clashes.
