The ruling Patriotic Front has named local businessman Moses Chilando as their candidate for the February 25 Katuba Constituency by-election.
Chilando was picked after Saturday’s Central Committee meeting of the ruling party.
Meanwhile the opposition National Restoration Party has picked its national chairman Joseph Mushalika as their candidate.
With NAREP and PF naming their candidates only the MMD and UPND have remained to unveil their candidates with the latter expected to field former Finance deputy minister Jonas Shakafuswa.
Nominations for the Katuba by-elections will be held on Tuesday while polls will be on February, 25.
The Katuba seat fell vacant following the death of Health Deputy Minister Patrick Chikusu.
