President Michael Sata has declared three-days of national mourning in honour of veteran broadcaster Charles Muyamwa, who died in Pretoria, South Africa on Thursday last week.
The Head of State who is given to declaring long mourning periods has naturally shocked the country as a day of mourning for the former broadcaster-cum-musician may have been considered adequate.
According to a statement from Secretary to the Cabinet Rowland Msiska the national mourning will run from Tuesday to Thursday.
Muyamwa is survived by a wife, Patricia, who is serving as first secretary for Tourism at the Zambian Mission in South Africa and seven children.
