Drama characterized the nomination day for the Wusakile ward by-election with the ruling party switching candidates one hour after the scheduled nomination time.
The PF had initially listed Billy Chishimba as their candidate but replaced him at the nomination centre with Davies Simunyola fanning confusion at the centre.
After Chishimba was withdrawn, PF cadres were bussed in Helen Kaunda and Kitwe boys’ school buses to the nomination centre.
Several onlookers wondered why school buses had been used to ferry party cadres.
The Wusakile ward fell vacant following the death of incumbent Francis Miti.
Poll date has been set for February, 25 with seven political parties fielding candidates.
Among the political parties contesting are NAREP, UPND, FDD, ADD, Green Party, MMD, UNIP and the PF.
Chishimba has opted to contest as an independent candidate.
