The opposition United Party for National Development says it has received about 100 Patriotic Front members in Matero constituency in Lusaka.
Party president Hakainde Hichilema who received the said members noted that there was a belief that Lusaka Province was a PF stronghold but that the landscape was shifting as the ruling party had lost members for failing to deliver.
Hichilema said the violence in the ruling party had made it unattractive to some members who favoured peace.
“They say that Lusaka belongs to PF, is that true? No. The people are leaving their party because they are disappointed at broken promises, at the levels of violence and intolerance,” he said.
Hichilema said his party was daily working on mobilization to ensure that they built a strong foundation as they prepare for the 2016 general elections.
