KabimbaThe tribunal investigating Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba today closed its sittings with losing Petauke Constituency PF candidate Leonard Banda taking the witness stand.

Banda, who petitioned the Supreme Court to bar former MPs Dora Sililya (Petauke), Hastings Sililo (Mulobezi) and Maxwell Mwale (Malambo), admitted before the tribunal that he did not pay for the legal opinion he used to commence his action.

He also admitted that the opinion he did not pay for was availed to him by his lawyer Bonaventure Mutale from Ellis and Company.

Banda also confirmed that he used the legal opinion to file his court action.

The tribunal was commenced after civil rights activist Brebner Changala and former Solwezi MP Lucky Mulusa petitioned acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda to probe Kabimba for using an opinion rendered to him by the Solicitor General Musa Mwenye for Patriotic Front business.

Judge Evans Hamaundu said no more witnesses will be called and that the three member tribunal will proceed to prepare a report to be availed to President Michael Sata and Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini.
