A Democratic Republic of Congo soldier has shot dead a truck driver as unrest resurface at the Kasumbalesa border post.
Truck drivers from various SADC countries are plotting to boycott going into the D.R Congo following continued ill-treatment but security personnel in the volatile vast central African nation.
Sources at the border say the nationalist of killed truck driver has not been established although some suspects he is Tanzanian while others claim he is Zambian.
The Post Newspaper is quoting Copperbelt minister Mwenye Musenge saying the truck driver killed on Thursday is Zambian.
There have been several protest at the border by SADC truck drivers who have sometimes brought operations to a standstill owing to treatment by security personnel in D.R Congo.
