A convicted PF fraudster Opper Hamiyanze has attacked UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema for petitioning President Michael Sata’s proposed allocation of K1.4 billion towards the construction of a retirement house.
Hamiyanze has accused Hichilema of exhibiting double standards on the petition against President Sata’s retirement house which is expected to commence construction before that of his predecessors Frederick Chiluba, Levy Mwanawasa and Rupiah Banda.
Hichilema signed a petition which demonstrators presented to parliament last week.
But Hamiyanze, who is also Matero member of parliament Miles Sampa’s spokesperson, said has wondered why the UPND leader is now against the allocation of funds for the Head of State’s retirement house when during the Rupiah Banda administration the UPND 2010 and 2011 approved K7. 2 billion allocated for the former president’s retirement house.
Hamiyanze, who was convicted for forgery by the Choma magistrate and spent close to a year in prison, said has since advised Hichilema to concentrate on building his party.
