Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba has angrily responded to calls for the Anti Corruption Commission to re-open the corruption probe against him.
Kabimba, who was publicly cleared alongside the former Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, has been hit by a barrage of calls to face the law in his alleged corrupt role in an oil deal involving Trafigura.
The Justice Minister said he should be left alone because he was not a twin brother to Mwamba.
“I am saying I do not understand how the problem of honourable Mwamba has a bearing on me as an individual. Even if I and GBM were brothers and he had committed an offence you have to deal with him,” said Kabimba.
“You cannot say because GBM is involved therefore Wynter Kabimba is involved. What logic is that I am too busy I have no time for such petty insinuations leave me alone there is no logic in what you are saying?”
The alacrity with which the law enforcement agencies have moved in on Mwamba has raised questions on the professional standing of the police with others wondering Kabimba who still has lingering graft charges has been spared.
Mwamba has endured state sponsored harassment since resigning his powerful defence portfolio.
