Opinion: Sata’s Phobia for Hichilemania

Sata RallySo if United Party for National Development President Hakainde Hichilema so cared to stoop to the level of President Michael Sata and suddenly turned up at a political rally with his father, what will the Head of State do? End sleepless night? Or could the Zambia Air Force planes that were recently sent to take pictures at Hichilema’s ranch have been attempting to identify the opposition leader’s father?

Notwithstanding that it would be callous of Hichilema to parade an old man at a political rally, assuming he is still alive for political convenience, he is an independent individual who is not in politics and should therefore not make part of the current political discourse.

Is President Sata, himself a 76 year old man, serious by asking Hichilema to drag an old man into the political limelight whatever the benefits?

What does President Sata want Hichilema’s father to do? Be his son’s campaign manager? President Sata at his age should do more to show respect to the men of his generation in a society that generally frowns upon its senior citizens or at least pave the way for the older generation to feel safe in this country.

Has not President Sata himself not been a victim of siring many children outside wedlock? Which political leader has dared bring the many women and children associated to him in the political limelight?

Who doesn’t know the litter President Sata’s machine has sprinkled across the country some of which he can’t recognise, does not know and will probably never know about? Is this the kind of politics President Sata want Zambians to engage in?

Would President Sata really want the Zambian political landscape to put him to this test? We understand that things are not going well for His Excellency as he gets drowned in his mazy of campaign promise lies but there is need to keep some level of decency in politics especially when in old age you are expected to be a messenger of peace.

If really President Sata wants a date with Hichilema’s father, why should he make it a national business? Assuming Hichilema did not grow up under his biological (note assuming) father does it make it a crime for him to aspire for leadership?

Does any child raised by a single mother fall short of taking up leadership under President Sata’s version of running the country by the 10 COMMANDMENTS?

President Sata should reflect more deeply on political outbursts and maybe take an introspection on his pledge to run the country by the 10 COMMANDMENTS.

For surely at the rate the man who identified his father as Langford Mubanga Chanda is going, he could be fast digging his own political grave. As for his friend Fred M’membe who thought carrying a banner headline from President Sata’s vomit on Hichilema father is more newsworthy, he needs a timely warning that he is not any clear to littering children only brought up by single mothers.

If he pushes people to the limit, he risk the opening of his closet very wide where many will learn about those flings with 18-year-olds UNZA students that have gone own to raise his off-springs. Please take heed, let’s not go there. It should not be party of our politics! Just handle the Hichilemania and the politics around it, not families. You have more to lose than Hichilema. This is a friendly warning.
