The Zambian parliament, through Speaker Patrick Matibini, has banned convicted PF fraudster Opper Hamiyanze from stepping on Parliament buildings during the life of this session.

This follows Hamiyanze’s decision to ridicule UPND Monze Central member of parliament Jack Mwiimbu on October 18, 2012 through a phone call on a Sky FM live radio programme.

Hamiyanze, a well-known criminal in Choma who recently spent close to a year in prison for fraudulent activities, accused Mwimbu of debating in parliament while drunk.

Apparently, Hamiyanze who is sponsored by Matero member of parliament Miles Sampa was trying to justify home affairs minister Edgar Lungu’s perennial drunken state whenever the lawmaker appeared in parliament.

Mwiimbu, however, complained to Parliament and Hamiyanze was today summoned and ordered to apologise for his indiscreet behaviour.

In his apology, Hamiyanze said he had learnt a lesson from the incident and that he shall endevour to conduct himself in a more responsible way.

Speaker Matibini then ordered that Hamiyanze should never set foot at Parliament buildings during the current session as a punishment for his conduct.

Hamiyanze is what Zambians have come to describe as “political cross-stitutes” that has had party membership with all major political parties provided his stomach is taken care of.

Currently, he is the spokesperson for Sampa – President Sata’s nephew – in whose name he issues disparaging remarks against opposition members critical of the regime.
