Parliament is today expected to continue debating the private member’s motion on the constitution moved by Mazabuka Central UPND Member of Parliament Garry Nkombo.
The motion that was tabled last Friday seeks to push government to give a clear roadmap on the constitution and also expedite the process.
Speaker of the National Assembly said he would suspend all standing orders today to ensure that the matter is concluded today before parliament adjourns sine die.
The Members of Parliament are expected to vote on the matter.
Opposition MPs have recently staged a protest inside the house over the PF’s disinterest in the constitution making process that they had promised to deliver within 90 days of being in power.
Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba presented a ‘hollow’ statement when he was called upon to clarify the matter and has in league with the PF top leadership and their propaganda machinery The Post newspapers launched a vitriolic campaign to discredit the process.
However, the civil society, church, opposition political parties and the general citizenry have refused to fall for their deception heightening their demands for a people driven constitution.
