Opposition Movement for Multi Party Democracy President Nevers Mumba says the ruling Patriotic Front has pumped undisclosed amounts of money to destabilize the former ruling party.
Addressing a press briefing Mumba accused some members of his party of having being paid to fan the confusion.
“How can you a member of our party leave the challenge of the Zambian people and start to embrace money coming from people which is supposed to destroy a party which is supposed to speak for the Zambian people?’’ he said.
“If you have to do anything now, it is to speak for the Zambians, feel with the Zambians it is to fight for the constitution, fight for mealie meal to come down, to fight for normalcy for the kwacha to stabilize not for money to destabilize this country. “
He added: “I have spent 30 years of our lives fighting for my country with a theme Zambia shall be saved and nobody shall stand my way and my way of achieving the vision of who we want to be.”
Meanwhile the former ruling party will within the next 21 days fill the eight vacant national executive seats including the position of National Executive Committee Secretary.
Deputy national secretary Chembe Nyangu said the positions will be filled at the next National Executive Committee meeting.
