United Party for National Development President Hakainde Hichilema says the dismissal of Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo was long overdue.
Hichilema said Masebo’s dismissal should be followed by other ministers like Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba and his Sports counterpart Chishimba Kambwili.
He said Masebo had been on the wrong path but had refused to listen to advice.
“Her dismissal is long overdue, very long overdue in any case the Zambian people could have done it for her in 2016,” Hichilema said.
“I told Masebo a long time ago but she did not listen to me maybe she will listen now. But it is too late now. She was heading in the wrong direction.”
He added: “Others should follow too like Kabimba and Chishimba Kambwili who have been an embarrassment to the government.”
On Thursday President Sata fired Masebo with immediate effect.
