The number of Patriotic Front cadres arrested over the hacking of police officers in a land wrangle in Lusaka West has risen to 16.
On Sunday Patriotic Front cadres turned on the police who had gone to stop them from illegally demarcating land in Lusaka West belonging to a private citizen and seriously wounded one officer while another cadre was shot dead in the scuffle.
Home Affairs Deputy Minister Stephen Kampyongo said five more cadres had been arrested from the 11 arrested on Sunday.
Kampyongo said the cadres would be used as an example for the growing levels of lawlessness among the ruling party members.
The PF cadres are stepping up their scramble for private people’s land usually demarcating it with impunity while the law casts a blind eye.
