Football – CAF Champions League 2013/14 – Nkana FC v Zamalek – Nkana StadiumThe Zambian champions who offered little in terms of resistance found themselves trailing in the 20th minute when Ahmed Tawfik tapped home with Moamen Zakira making it 2-0 on 34 minutes with a well struck free kick further sending the visitors into misery.

Coach Masautso Mwale had hardly settled from the break when Mahoud Sayed goal piled more misery on Nkana with Zamalek’s third goal.

Whatever little hope Nkana had were dealt a vicious blow in the 58th minute before Hazem Emam added a fourth to break Nkana’s spine.

Zamalek showed no mercy for their visitors with Fathy Gaffar driving the final nail in the 69th minute to send the Zambian champions to the cleaners.

One of the few chances Nkana had cane in the 11th minute when Ronald Kampamba failed to tap in a Maybin Chishimba corner from inside the box.

The two sides went into the second leg tied at 0-all but the Egyptians showed the gulf in class by thumping the Zambian side. Nkana will now drop to the Confederation Cup.

The loss summed up a dismal weekend for Zambian clubs in CAF competitions with Zesco having been booted out earlier in day after Ghanaian side Medeama edged them 2-0 on aggregate.
