The widely publicized gruesome murder of NIPA student Ruth Mbandu has come to a crashing end after the Director of Public Prosecutions entered a nolle prosequi letting the suspects walk scot free.
The Lusaka High Court has set free the deceased’s uncle George Kalomo who was the chief suspect in the case that saw the 19-year old’s face peeled off before being dumped near her home.
It was a case that captured the imagination of an entire nation albeit in a grief sense with many tales bandied around as to the possibilities and motives of the ritualistic like murder.
