Five people have died in Zambia in a gruesome crime scene while a sixth person escaped with injuries after being shot at by armed criminals along the Kabwe-Kapiri Mposhi Road.

The Zambian Watchdog reports that police insiders say the killers are among the hundreds of convicts president Michael Sata has been giving freedom from the time he became president.

The six included the driver, lorry boy and four other passengers who were travelling on a truck Reg. No ALF 2406 which they hired to transport iron sheets and mattresses from Lusaka to Kasama.

According to police deputy public relations officer Charity Munganga, when the truck reached an area between Manyumbi and Green leaf, the driver was ordered to park by criminals armed with one AK 47 riffle and three pistols who were using an unregistered Toyota Corolla.

The victims were ordered into a nearby bush where the criminals spread bullets in their heads.

Meanwhile, police officers on the Copperbelt have gunned down four dangerous criminals who attempted to stage a robbery in Ndola’s Chifubu Township.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Mary Tembo says the four are suspected ex convicts who were recently released from jail.

President Sata has pardoned criminals including his bodyguard Judge Ngoma who is responsible for organising thugs to terrorise political opponents and is currently engaged as an intelligence officer.
