Over 200 government workers in Western Province have staged a protest after going for six months without pay.
The workers, who were reportedly employed by the Patriotic Front government under their new district creation policy, have vowed to cripple government in the province.
Among the workers are drivers, cleaners, watchmen and office orderlies who were hastily squeezed into the civil service without approval from the treasury.
The workers have appealed to government to pay them their salary arrears as they were living in abject poverty.
