The noose is tightening on fired Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo with yet another case lumped on her doorstep after the Anti Corruption confirmed they are investigating her using public funds to courier witnesses for her tribunal.
Masebo, who was recently relieved of her duties, may also have to face up to his ‘tormentor in chief’ William Harrington who has commenced fresh litigation seeking judicial review after the tribunal found her guilty but did not declare that she breached the parliamentary and ministerial code of conduct.
The flamboyant Chongwe lawmaker has also sued Harrington for recovery of costs during the tribunal that interestingly were paid for by the Zambia Wildlife Authority.
ACC Public Relations Ofiicer Timothy Moono said the Masebo probe had already taken off.
“Yes, I wish to confirm that the commission is investigating that matter and it is also a new matter therefore investigations are still fresh therefore we are following on those earnestly,” Moono said.
The ZAWA is alleged to have footed the cost for Masebo’s witnesses and lodged them at Ndozo Lodge at government expense.
Moono also said that 22 cases of misappropriation of funds from the 2012 Auditor General’s Report were under investigation.
