pf-youth-cadres-violence-zambia-reportsOpposition National Restoration Party says they are trying hard to make youths responsible and not tools of violence as demonstrated by the Patriotic Front.

NAREP president Elias Chipimo says the increase in political party violence was as a result of lack of jobs for the youths.

Chipimo said youths had been denied the promised jobs by the PF and found themselves exposed to political violence as the only way of earning quick money.

He said Zambia needed a leadership that promoted modern and civilized politics devoid of insults.

“The levels of violence are very worrying because the youths are being used. First you promise them jobs and fail to give them and then abuse their vulnerability by paying them to beat up opponents,” he said.

“As NAREP we are saying you can make young people responsible rather than use them as tools of violence.”

Chipimo: “That is why we need a leader and not a politician for a president. We do not need people who are only focused on winning at all costs.”

Zambia has been besieged by a violent political culture with PF cadres routinely harassing opponents refusing them to gather peacefully or appear on radio or television stations.
