MMD NEC NEVER MUMBA CONSULTING SINDA MP LEVY NGOMA 1 27 04 2014The MMD has instituted disciplinary charges against the two vice presidents Michael Kaingu and Brian Chituwo for bringing the name of the party into disrepute.

And newly elected party national secretary Muhabi Lungu has returned to his office a day after Patriotic Front sponsored youths threatened to beat him up if he reported to his new office.

Lungu said the National Executive Committee on Sunday resolved to discipline Kaingu, Chituwo and their lieutenants Dora Siliya and Lucky Mulusa.

He said he received information on Monday that sponsored cadres had been bussed in four cars to cause confusion at the secretariat and he left to avoid a possible bloodbath.

Lungu has also said he will report the cadres and their sponsors to the police.

“Five of them the two vice presidents (Kaingu and Chituwo), honourable Siliya, Kafumukache and Lucky Mulusa are known,” he said.

“It was a resolution emanating from the National Executive Committee meeting that disciplinary proceedings must now be undertaken against the five basically for bringing the name of the party into contempt and ignoring the directive by the president to cease fire.”

He also said he would report the cadres who camped at the secretariat to the police.

“Over and above I am going to report this matter to the police. I will be going to Woodlands Police to tell them that I am a legally elected person and followed the rules. If any cadres are going to be sent by others they are going to be arrested.”

Lungu also said he decided to leave the secretariat on Monday after receiving information that sponsored cadres were on their way to attack him.

“It is not true that I did not access it, I was there in the morning. I was in the office until we received information that they had organized four busloads to come and restrain me or throw me out when they come.

“Because I am a law abiding citizen so I decided to leave to avoid a situation which was unattainable where no lives are going to be lost especially mine,” he said.

“I left then the matter was reported to the police and the police came about 14:00 hours and asked the party cadres to leave and undertook that they would leave but said Mr Kafumukache (Tobias) had promised them food so after they ate food they left. At about 15:30 I went back to the secretariat to begin to operate. “
