MMD president Nevers Mumba says State House should issue an apology over President Michael Sata’s conduct during Labour Day celebrations when he abandoned workers after a minute’s speech.
Mumba said it appears President Sata was either unfit to conduct his duties or has no agenda for the Zambian people.
He said there seemed to be a deeper problem that the President was hiding from the public.
President Sata refused to allow speeches to workers who had gathered all morning at the Freedom Statue stunning the mass of people that had hoped he would address some of their niggling concerns.
“State House should issue an apology over the way the President abandoned the workers yesterday. It shows that President Sata has no agenda for the people of this country,” he said.
“We are demanding that State House issues an apology on why the President is failing to fulfill his duties. If there is a deeper problem as to why the President is unable to carry out his duties let them come out in the open.”
A frail looking President Sata yesterday spent a minute, incoherently addressing workers and dashed for his official car thereafter, leaving everyone in shock.
