Political activist Dante Saunders says the people of Zambia cannot trust President Michael Sata and Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba anymore.
Saunders said in Lusaka that Sata and Kabimba were sounding like broken records each time the two opened their mouths.
He said it was regrettable that Kabimba and Sata had continued to make false promises even when they had failed to deliver any of the simple pledges they made before 2011.
Saunders said Zambians were not gullible to continue to be hoodwinked by Sata and Kabimba, because the two were pure failures who did not mean well for the country.
“No one wants to trust Sata and Kabimba anymore. They are like broken records. It is a pity that they are so blind to see that no one wants to trust them anymore. What is on the ground is that the people of Zambia are just waiting for the appropriate time, which is in 2016 to vote these people out. It has been a very painful period for the people and everyone is itching for 2016,” he said.
Saunders said Sata had no message for the workers on Labour day and that was the reason he opted to cut the event short.
He said Sata was living a life full of regrets for his own failure and pathological lies and that was the reason why he was shy to face the people and stay in public for longer periods.
“Usually I wonder whether Sata sleeps at night because of the millions of people he has hurt to the bone. He used to talk frankly and sincerely, promising things he knew he would never do. I don’t think he sleeps at night. If he sleeps, then there is something terribly wrong somewhere,” Saunders said.
On Kabimba, Saunders said the Justice minister cannot win an election even within the Patrotic Front (PF) because he was riding on Sata’s own lies.
He said no amount of pursuation would convince the people of Zambia to believe Kabimba on his statements and promises regarding the constitutions making process.
Saunders said Kabimba had told numerous lies and empty promises over the constitution making process and the civil society, politicians and all Zambians had seen the inconsistency in the whole process.
“The events that have taken place and the inconsistent statements from Kabimba have shown that this is a man that no one can trust. This is a man who says this today and turns around tomorrow. The people are just watching and listening, waiting for the right time to act. Kabimba will be punished and he must not think the people are happy. This country does not belong to Sata and Kabimba for them to be taking us for this ride,” he said.
He said Kabimba was seemingly powerful because he had been given wings by Sata to fly, but the Justice minister must realize that Sata was not a stable character.
Saunders said very few people within the PF had confidence in Kabimba because of the manner in which he acquired power and how he was creating divisions in ruling party.
“You must watch Kabmba very well. He wants to hijack many things, but he is just encouraging divisions and anarchy in both the party and government,” he said.
