CHONGWE member of parliament Sylvia Masebo says President Michael Sata and the PF have fulfilled all their campaign promises to the people of Chongwe.
Speaking during the celebrations of the Global Day of Action in Chongwe on Thursday, Masebo said, “When I was campaigning in 2011, I used to tell these headmen gathered here that ‘this man called Sata is a man of action. I said to them that when he becomes President, all the things we have been crying for in Chongwe will be done by him, and he has proven it in this two years he has been in power.”
Masebo commended the PF administration for the passion it continued to exhibit in addressing the plight of the people in the area.
“When it comes to addressing challenges that Chongwe, as a constituency has been facing, I wish to confirm that Sata has worked. If he is to fail, let him not fail in Chongwe, let him fail somewhere else and not here in Chongwe,” she said.
Masebo said whether or not she stood as candidate for the Chongwe seat in 2016, she was optimistic that the PF would still continue delivering unprecedented development to her constituency.
“And this does not matter whether I stand as MP in 2016 or whether I shall not stand, the issue here is development, the issue at hand is that are we seeing development here in Chongwe. Have we seen development under the leadership of President Sata? And the true answer to God is ‘yes’,” she said.
She said she was not in agreement with people in other areas complaining of poor developmental projects being undertaken by the PF.
“So those complaining in other areas that things are not happening as the PF promised, they are speaking from their own point but for us here in Chongwe things are happening,” she said.
Masebo appealed to the people to continue supporting President Sata and also acknowledge that he was human and could err at times.
“Every human makes mistakes and I’m not saying President Sata is pure; he may make his own mistakes but when it comes to development, he does not play around; he keeps the promise,” Masebo said.
